Video: Open G tuning guitar lesson
By · CommentsTwo For One Rolling Stones Black Crowes
Just found another great open tuning guitar lesson video. This is another Rolling Stones tune in open G. On a side note, if you tune the B string up to a C, you get a Jimmy Page open tuning that he uses in classics such as his “The Rain Song.”
Two songs in the same tuning:

Guitar Solos In Rock History
By · CommentsGreatest Rock Guitar Solos
I was watching videos on the greatest rock solos and found one that I can, for the most part, go along with. Slash from Gun’s N’ Roses getting two slots over someone like Jimmy Page is a little off. I’d also place Page with his solo in Since I’ve Been Loving You over David Gilmour and Comfortably Numb as being number one. What say you?

Jimmy Page: The Greatest Rock Guitarist
In my mind, Page is the greatest rock guitarist of all time. Above even Hendrix. Three main reasons:
- Spectrum
Page played some downright wicked blues, as well as the first rock ballad, all the way to Celtic folk. Not even Hendrix can contend with this. - Creativity
Having studied the works of Page for many years, I have come across eight different tunings that Page uses. Several of these tunings are his own creation. Wondering why you can’t quite get that Page sound? You’re probably playing in the wrong tuning! - Longevity
Page has over 50 years in the music industry. Wow.
Babe I’m Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin
Lyrics:
Babe, baby, baby, I’m Gonna Leave You.
I said baby, you know I’m gonna leave you.
I’ll leave you when the summertime,
Leave you when the summer comes a-rollin’
Leave you when the summer comes along.
Baby, baby, I don’t wanna leave you,
I ain’t jokin’ woman, I got to ramble.
Oh, yeah, baby, baby, I believin’,
We really got to ramble.
I can hear it callin’ me the way it used to do,
I can hear it callin’ me back home!
Babe…I’m gonna leave you
Oh, baby, you know, I’ve really got to leave you
Oh I can hear it callin ‘me
I said don’t you hear it callin’ me the way it used to do?
I know I never never never gonna leave your babe
But I got to go away from this place,
I’ve got to quit you, yeah
Baby, ooh don’t you hear it callin’ me?
Woman, woman, I know, I know
It feels good to have you back again
And I know that one day baby, it’s really gonna grow, yes it is.
We gonna go walkin’ through the park every day.
Come what may, every day
It was really, really good.
You made me happy every single day.
But now… I’ve got to go away!
Baby, baby, baby, baby
That’s when it’s callin’ me
I said that’s when it’s callin’ me back home.
Guitar Lesson- Neil Young In Drop “D” Tuning
By · CommentsDon’t let it Bring you Down In Drop “D”
I spent some time yesterday looking for a video that plays this song in the correct way. Many people play this song in standard tuning, which makes it impossible to get the Neil grunge sound. The video below shows you how to tune your guitar to drop “D” tuning, and shows the correct chords. I have also included a live rendition by grandpa grunge himself. Enjoy.

Free Acoustic Guitar Lesson Video- Open G Tuning
By · CommentsOpen G Tuning Acoustic Guitar Video Lesson
Open guitar tunings are fantastic fun. Yesterday I spent the evening learning this Rolling Stones song Honky Tonk Woman. One thing that is so cool about playing acoustic guitars is that there is always something new to learn. I have been playing in open G tuning for many years and was as excited as a kid to learn something new. What a blast!
Honky Tonk Woman, Rolling Stones
I play several Led Zeppelin songs in open G, as well as a few standard blues tunes. Now I can add this great Stones song to my list. I love Youtube for all the great free guitar lessons. Check out this killer version of honky Talk Woman.
Open E and C7 are two other acoustic guitar tunings to try out. C7 is also known as “sawmill” tuning. Jimmy Page used it on several Zeppelin songs.
